Dhara

 

It is a method of massage by pouring medicated milk, buttermilk etc in a special way on the whole body, head and other parts of the body alone.

 

a).Oordhangadhara


It is a type of dhara on the head using oil, butter, milk etc. It is mainly used for sinusitis, asthma, chronic cough, hemiplegia, facial paralysis, cervical spondylosis, seizure, headache, trigeminal neuralgia, sciatica, mental illness or psychosis, asthma, diseases of mouth, ear, eye and rheumatic diseases.

b). Sarvangadhara


It is a type of dhara on the full body using oil, milk, buttermilk, decoction etc. It is mainly used for rheumatic diseases, paralysis, and skin diseases, swelling all over the body.

c). Thakradhara


It is a type of dhara using buttermilk. It is mainly used in the case of headache, skin diseases, rheumatic and paralytic conditions, insomnia, diseases in the head, mouth, eye, ear and nose sinusitis, cough, asthma etc.

 

d).Pizhichil


It is a type of sarvangadhara using medicated oil. It is mainly used in paralysis like hemiplegia, quadriplegia, polio, muscular weakness, muscular atrophy, paralysis due to accident, rheumatic arthritis, Osteo arthritis, Ankylosis, Spondylosis and general and sexual weakness.
